For our specials teachers VPN has helped a lot. Entering grades for every student in the school is time consuming.
I opened multiple windows to be more efficient - while one student was saving I was able to enter the next. Just heard that's a no-no but it really helped me!
We made it through and it wasn't as wild as I thought it might be. The biggest complaint was the slow saving process. Our principal gave each specials teacher a 1/2 of professional leave to enter grades. None of them finished in that short time but it sure helped. They entered grades ahead of the demand time. I truly feel teachers should not be expected to enter grades at home on their own time.
I, too, had to enter my grades early and from home (music), and many of my grades did not "take", so I've had numerous parents coming to me asking for grades. I'm not sure if it was because I worked from home, or because I did my grades before some of the bugs were worked out.
Other than a few printing glitches & grades missing, we didn't have major problems. I believe it is most time consuming for the specials teachers, so the school that gave them professional time to enter grades was right on the money!
Aside from the 2 and 1/2 hours that it was down, things went well for our building. I am hoping though, that they get the printing worked out so that we don't have to go in and print each individual student, but can print the class as a whole.
Our specials entered their grades early. It would be helpful if the teachers could press enter or tab and have the cursor move to the box below. I'm sure many teachers realized that they didn't have to use the drop down menu, but could just key in the I,M or E; that saved some time. We were able to print only one class as a whole. It took just over a minute to generate a PDF for the entire class and only 4 to 5 minutes to print it--much faster than printing each report individually.

The KPR was updated and changed…I liked the new format and it is easier to read and share with parents..but I
Was not able to do attendance or Intervention grades on the computer..had to write them in by hand.
I like the EPR and found it really simple to use. I don’t like that there is no place on there anymore for math level.
To improve the system, back it up so it doesn’t crash on teacher work days. I don’t know if this is possible though and I am sure people are trying everything they can think of to prevent this.
I would like to change the fact that you have to save every page before you can move on, it would be nice to have a program that will save automatically.
I wish the tab button could be set to go down the column so that it stays in the current grading period instead of moving to the next grading period.
Set all drop down boxes where E, M, or I needs to be selected to M as a default. This would save tons of time. Thanks!
Put astricks in the drop down menu for ESOL students. Allow the report card to be printed in spanish and vietmese.
