Scanning at Your Building
How does scanning work at your building? Does a single person scan or mulitiple people? Is there a set time or is scanning completed as assessments are given? Share your building's scanning plan to give others ideas on how to best streamline this process in their buildings.
I'm the only scanner. I scan the sheets as soon as they are handed to me - or as soon as my room is empty. I'm also the one who prints the sheets. Our school is small - this works well for us.
The principal only wants me to scan. I have printed the data sheets but now I'm helping the teachers print the data sheet. It's good for the teachers to learn how.
I print and scan all bubble sheets. The sheets are given to the teachers in a brown envelope and returned to me in the same envelope. I scan them as they come in. I try to make the process as simple as possible for the classroom teachers. It works in my building (large school).
We have two scanners and they are available to all staff to use. The one house in a teacher's room is encouraged to be used when her class is not there, it works well. The other is in the office and teacher may use it anytime.
Our secretary scans them. We had a problem this time, though, with third grade math not scanning right. It won't scan #16 or #21-27. We have been communicating with whoever it is who is in charge, but nothing is resolved. Bubbles are dark. Any suggestions?
If you are having trouble with questions 16 and 21 - 27, email kdavis@usd259.net so we can get to the bottom - I need to know what test and a sample student name and homeroom Thanks

Our instructional coaches print the scan sheets, then teachers scan them on their own.
Our instructional coach and I run the DCA sheets and scan them together.

I print the answer sheets and do the scanning for 2nd - 5th grades. I am in a smaller school, and this works out fine.
