How do you feel that the TRC grant is helping to make sure this isn't a problem for the students in the TRC classrooms?

  • Hopefully by using a variety of internet resources and software our students will be aware of different resources. I guess we need to make sure we are giving our kids a toolbox that is packed full when they leave us.

  • Students are learning how to solve problems themselves. Searching for information on the internet is a daunting task. Students in my TRC classroom are learning how to get around a search problem by analyzing the area they are searching and examining the sites they find, checking for reliability and authenticity of the information provided. Students are becoming aware of the various research techniques for finding information quicker and more efficiently.

  • Google is a wonderful search engine! It is today's quick fix just like everything else including medications. I think that the Grant that we recieved is teaching kids that information can be found anywhere and that Google isn't the only place to search for information. Our Grant goes above and beyond the measures of learning for kids because it is teaching them to use the technology and information as a tool to enhance their learning. Most children may not know muchh beyond Google but you have to be the one to lead kids in the other direction. As an educator having an open mind is necessary it is also necessary that you teach children to have an open mind when it comes to search engienes and the internet.
